Unemployment has been bad for me in more ways than one. How, you ask? Well...obviously, it's been SUPER-BAD monetarily. HOWEVER, it has also caused some issues with TV. I've never been a huge TV person, you see....which is probably a good thing. Don't get me wrong...there are certain shows that I've grown to like/love, and I must admit I have some of those shows on DVD, so I can watch them over...and over...and over...and over again. But I've still always kept myself in check.
These days, I seem to watch entirely too much TV. (The sad part is...I think a LOT of people still watch more than me...) Want to know what I LOVE about fall? I could get all mushy-gushy and say that it's the change of season, leaves changing, etc....however, I can't. Because in South Carolina, there's really no such thing as fall. At least, not compared to what I grew up with. You see a color here and a color there...but nothing as beautiful as other places...especially PA (but I'm kind've partial to it, after all). And temperature? Kids are still wearing shorts in November half of the time. *sigh* I like real seasons. ANYWAY! The sad thing? The exciting part of this fall season for me has been the new TV shows/seasons. Seriously. On Monday nights at 8, I guarantee you that as long as is physically possible, I'll be at my TV, feasting on One Tree Hill (though I must admit I'm not too over the moon about it this season and think it should've ended last year). And in January, it's all about Jack Bauer at 9! Tuesdays at 8 is the new 90210 (but I'm thinking about giving that one up...totally not impressed thus far this year). I'm also giving Glee a chance on Wednesday evenings. And Thursdays....Vampire Diaries. Don't Judge Me. Seriously...I know it's pathetic, and it's also very possible that these won't last. I can be fairly ADD when it comes to sticking with TV shows...
HOWEVER....I'm also giving another one a try. NCIS: Los Angeles. It's on right now. I decided to give it a go, because 1.) I do like NCIS, but I'm not uber-faithful, and 2.) I'll give it a go, because of Chris O'Donnell. I was also pleasantly surprised to realize that LL Cool J is on it. Seriously....Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J in one show? Fabulous. I'm impressed thus far...though it's only half-way into the first episode. The one thing that I AM concerned about is...where are LL's eyebrows? Seriously...if you've seen the show, I think you know what I'm talking about.
(It also has the short woman principal from Kindergarten Cop...HaHaHAlarious...)
I may have to just issue my own intervention. Have you noticed that the majority of these shows that I have listed are set in high school? Perhaps it's one of the ways that I'm clinging to my youth. *shrugs* Like I said before, the big 2-5 is emerging this year...and it gives me the heebie-jeebies....not because I think it's an old age...just because I think it's crazy for ME to be turning that old! *shakes head*
It's also plain SICK the way that I'm counting down the days until November 20th...well, actually the 19th...since I'll be in a theatre that night for a 12:01 showing....FABULOUS. New Moon has captured my attention...and my teenage angst. It's ok, though...at least I'm not a "Twi-Mom" ;)
So yeah....TV, Movies....*drops head in shame*...I'm becoming a junkie.
Stage. Intervention. Now.
Wow I will have to look at my calendar and see if I am doing anything that night. Maybe I can join you or something. You know if I am not busy. I mean I have so much planned, I just couldn't tell you in advance what I have going on that night. Hey but like I said we will see...
ReplyDeletelol...hmm...I know it's REALLY hard for you to plan in advance. So it's ok. Don't worry about it. I'm sure I can find SOMEONE who will want to go with me....
ReplyDeleteBAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!! How much would you kill me? ;)
